While picking Blackberries today with my family I started to think of all the yummy treats I want to make, Crisps, Jam, Muffins, Ice Cream Sauce, Pancakes, Oatmeal Topping, and of course ... PIES.

Now I love to make a good fruit pie and the last few years I haven't really gotten around to actually making one (I'm sure my husband still loves me!) and I really miss this delicious treat.  With two young kids I was feeling overwhelmed and just couldn't fathom the process (I make my own crusts), but this summer I vow to make at least one!

With this promise to myself in my head I started to think about the adorable Mason Jars that have filled my parents, and grandparents houses for as long as I remember and I start to think that maybe I could throw a little pie in one of the Salmon sized jars (I think they are about 125 mL sized but will need to check with my Mom about that).

I have to admit I feel pretty good about my new idea, that is until I head back in the house and google my 'original' idea, only to find that my idea is FAR from original!  I take a few breaths to re-inflate my ego (I swear I thought I was the first to think of this!) and begin to check-out the seemingly infinite supply of recipes and ideas to come up with my own way of creating this (hopefully) delicious little pies.

I think that I know my plan of attack, and hope to execute my little jars of goodness by the end of the week and will report back with a full report then!

Wish me luck!
